Playhouse

The Playhouse was originally built in 1897 for the Frick children. Original amenities included furniture built to the smaller scale of the rooms, a bowling alley (which can still be seen under the floorboards) and a darkroom for Childs Frick’s pursuit of photography.
Located within the Playhouse today are the Frick’s Visitor Center and the Museum Shop. In the small parlor, the starting point for all Clayton tours, there is a display of Frick family photographs printed from archival negatives.
